Improving Visual Function with Vision Therapy in Livermore

Some vision challenges go beyond clarity, especially when it comes to tracking, coordination, and visual processing. At Livermore Optometry Group, we offer limited vision therapy support for select cases where added guidance may help with eye teaming, focus, or visual efficiency.

If your child struggles with reading or attention, or you’ve noticed fatigue during close-up tasks, our team can assess whether vision therapy might be part of the solution.

What Is Vision Therapy?

Vision therapy is a customized treatment plan that supports the way your eyes work together and how your brain processes what you see. It’s often used to improve:

  • Eye tracking during reading
  • Depth perception
  • Focus adjustment between distances
  • Visual attention and processing
  • Eye coordination and teaming

Therapy sessions may include simple activities, in-office guidance, or take-home exercises to reinforce progress.

Who Might Benefit from a Vision Therapy Evaluation?

We may recommend a vision therapy assessment for:

  • Children who lose their place while reading.
  • Students with visual fatigue or inconsistent focus.
  • Individuals with a history of concussion or head trauma.
  • Patients with eye teaming or alignment concerns.

Not every case requires therapy, but understanding what’s happening can guide us to the right next step.

Our Myopia Care Approach at Livermore Optometry Group

We provide limited vision therapy on a case-by-case basis. We can offer targeted support in-office or suggest at-home strategies in many situations. If more extensive therapy is needed, we’ll help connect you with a provider who can continue care.

This service is not a core part of our practice, but we’re always happy to evaluate and advise when vision therapy may be helpful.

Part of a Bigger Picture

Visual tracking and processing challenges can affect more than eyesight - they may show up in schoolwork, attention span, or everyday confidence. We take a whole-person approach, working closely with families to understand the full picture and make recommendations based on what will best support your goals.

We’re not just checking boxes, we’re here to help you make sense of symptoms and choose the path that fits.

Let’s Start With a Conversation

If you have questions about vision therapy, or think it might help your child or a loved one, our team is here to talk through it. We’ll begin with a comprehensive eye exam and explore whether further support could make a meaningful difference.
